The internet as I once knew it is dead. Nearly 20 years ago, I abandoned most mainstream print media for the internet because the information was credible (provided you knew where to look) and unfettered by commercial nonsense like this.
I mean, seriously, anyone claiming to be an authority on hi-fi who endorses this brand is fit to have their credibility put under the spotlight.
Now, the only thing distinguishing professional sites like the one depicted here from the countless DIY bloggers in the same space is that they’re doing it full time.
Back in the day, the main barrier to entry in the media was the ability to be published – but the internet has obviously changed all that… which reminds me of a great line from The Incredibles: “And when everyone’s super… no one will be.”
