Day 302: The things I could show you…

Tuesday, 29 October 2013

For the first time, I saw my son take an interest in something that I remember doing myself as a kid. I suppose any boy can play with a toy rocket ship, but there was something about how intently he was concentrating on certain details of his toys and the scenarios he was emulating with the little astronauts that felt very familiar to me. Prior to this, I’ve only known him to play with jigsaw puzzles, watch Dora and destroy things.

Whatever it is, I felt a sudden desire to show him everything. Star Trek, Star Wars, Macross, Battlestar Galactica… by the time he’s old enough to appreciate them, they’ll be too dated. Oh well…

  1. Such things are never too dated! Technically Star Wars was before my time, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love it! (It being the original three movies which are by far the best, even with the outdated special effects). I was raised on them.

  2. Kevin you’ll have a great time teaching Harry all those things.Jake got into Angry Birds Star Wars but we decided to show him the original. He actually sat through the first movie! Jason fell asleep because he’s more of a Star Trek fan and had never seen any of the Star Wars movies! Anyway, now Jake is into Star Wars and I’m going to watch the rest of the episodes with him hehe. – Mimm
