I can’t imagine there are many other things we’ll encounter in our lifetimes that remind us of how little we know, of what little control we have over our lives, of how powerless we are, than our children. I took this photo for my good friend Amos partly because, like most parents, I know too well the frustration of nobody ever offering to capture a family photo of us.
For Amos and Junko, however, the moment is especially important: little Haruka will be undergoing surgery next week, followed by several more weeks of recovery.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.
That’s tough – my son has been through numerous surgeries, some of them cardiac. It was great of you to take this beautiful photo for them. 🙂
I have very very few photos of growing up and even fewer family photos. That one will be a good fun memory for them.
